Planning a Barcelona hen do can be daunting.
Where to go? What to do? Who can help?
Even googling all the questions is hard work.
But that’s where GoHen comes in!
And because we’re better than Google, we gather all the important info ourselves. 😎
That’s why we sent our Destination Specialist and Event Manager, Lucy and Vicki, to Spain to test out the best group activities, party in the best spots, and share their favourites!
Here’s what they said when they returned:
The Things You Need to Know… 👀
- If you LOVE tapas, Barcelona is THE best place to try it!
- The Gothic Quarter, or Barri Gòtic is packed with bars.
- Port Olimpic’s nightlife is next level.
- Head to Barcelona’s Old Town for a more chilled experience.
- Leave some time to check out the beach!
Getting There… ✈️
“We landed at Barcelona-El Prat Airport and our driver was ready to pick us up.
“If you don’t have transfers to your accommodation, GoHen can help you arrange them to give you that extra peace of mind.
“However, the airport is easy to navigate and the area around the Arrivals is packed with taxis that will get you to where you want to go.”
What Were Your First Impressions? 💭
“We hadn’t seen a livelier place!
“The central plaza was bustling with life, and it felt like we were always in the heart of the party, even when we were just walking along a random street in the city centre.”
Where Did You Stay? 🏨
“We booked a twin room at the 4* Sunotel Club Central which was an excellent choice.
“The room was stylish and clean and had all the essentials we could have asked for on our stay.
“The area around the hotel is packed with bus and metro links which made it very easy to get to the main attractions and party venues.”
How Easy Was It to Get Around Barcelona? 🚌
“Navigating the transport links and the streets in Barcelona was very easy – Google Maps was reliable and always showed us the best routes.”
“We’ve been to many of the destinations that GoHen offers, and we must say that Barcelona’s public transport was the best one so far.”
#LIFEHACK 💅
“Buy a travel card online or at the tourist information desk and you’ll be bagging a bargain! You can use it on the metro, bus, and tram which can get you anywhere in the city!”
Drinking and Dining in Barcelona… 🍷🥘
“We wandered into many bars on our visit, especially in the Plaça Reial Square area and we never left disappointed.
“When we got hungry, we knew we had to try the local tapas, so we headed over to a place called Samantha’s and walked out of there very, very happy.
“Whilst on our stay, we also visited the Ice Bar. Just a heads up… it was cold. Makes sense, since everything was made out of ice – even the glasses we drank from!
“We would 100% recommend it, though!”
- Placa Reial Square – Pl. Reial, 1, 08002 Barcelona
- Ice Bar – Entrada por la playa, Pg. Marítim de la Barceloneta, 38A, 08005 Barcelona
- Samantha’s – Pl. Reial, 12, Ciutat Vella, 08002 Barcelona
TOP TIP
“The locals tend to have dinner late in the evening, so we’d suggest having a late brunch and then booking tables for 8:30-9:00 PM if you want to enjoy a better atmosphere.”
Nightlife in Barcelona… 🍹
“There are many spots along the seafront where you can enjoy a cocktail while working on your tans, and you can stick around until the evening and head over to Port Olimpic de Barcelona.
“We counted at least four of five nightclubs over there that were getting a lot of attention from locals, tourists, stag and hen groups alike, so you’ll be in the right place!”
- Port Olímpic de Barcelona – Passeig Marítim del Port Olímpic, 08005
