GoHen Go to Belfast

by

GoHen is based in Bath, so how do we know where the party’s at in Belfast?

It’s because we’ve been.

We sent our trusty content executive Tom to blend in with the locals and gather all their wisdom.

From the top bars to the best nightlife, here are Tom’s top tips and recommendations for a Belfast hen party.

Tom on Commercial Court, Belfast

The Things You NEED to Know… 👀

  • The average cost of a pint in the city centre is €6
  • Commercial Court has the best nightlife
  • There are many fun hen activities you can do in the city

How Did You Find Getting to Belfast? ✈️

“It was a breeze, as the flight from Bristol was less than an hour and there was no passport control, so you didn’t have to wait in a queue when you landed.

“We flew to Belfast International Airport, which is a bit further out of the city, but it was very easy to catch a bus from the terminal.

“It runs regularly, and it stops at the Europa Buscentre on Glengall Street (BT12 5AH) which is just a 15-minute walk away from the heart of the city.”

TOP TIP

“Instead of buying a single fare to Belfast city centre for £9.50 per person, I’d recommend getting a return ticket for £13.50 which can be used for up to a month.”

What Were Your First Impressions? 💭

“It was dark and rainy when we landed, but this was mainly because it was 10 PM on a cold October night.

“The weather didn’t stop us from visiting a pub called Lavery’s that same night and playing some pool.

“I spotted many more bars and restaurants in that same area which would be perfect for a hen party!

“Immediately, the city felt similar to Bristol and Glasgow in the best ways possible – it had a very chill vibe mixed with an alternative feel and a vibrant party scene.”

  • Lavery’s – 12-18 Bradbury Pl, Belfast BT7 1RS

How Easy Was It to Get Around? 🚶‍♀️‍➡️

“We didn’t find ourselves catching a taxi at any point, even though they were available.

“Most times, a leisurely five-minute walk could take us to where we wanted to go.

“The longest we walked at a time was about 25 minutes when we decided to check out the Titanic Museum after having been to the pub.”

What Was the Food and Booze Like? 🍕🥂

“I enjoyed every pub in Belfast I walked into.

The Duke of York and The Dark Horse on Commercial Court were definitely two places I’ll visit again.

“The Guinness and the local brews we tried there were phenomenal, and the cocktails I saw being served looked incredible too.

“One thing worth mentioning is that these spots can get very busy, especially around brunch and dinner times, so I’d recommend reserving a table and maybe even ordering in advance to save time.

“Our Belfast hen activities boast some amazing food and drink options that will help you avoid any disappointments.”

  • Duke of York – 7-11 Commercial Court, Belfast, BT1 2NB
  • The Dark Horse – 30 Hill Street, Belfast, BT1 2LB

Were Any Sights Worth Seeing? 🏛️

The Titanic Museum

“The Titanic Museum was pretty cool both as a tourist attraction and as a building, so I’d recommend doing a Titanic Tour and checking out the interactive galleries.

“If you’re in Belfast on a weekend, then you’re in luck as St George’s Market is only open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and it’s absolutely worth it!

“You can try local produce, grab a hot coffee while strolling down the stands, pick up some cool souvenirs, enjoy the live music and just soak up the vibrant atmosphere.”

  • St George’s Market – 12-20 East Bridge Street, BT1 3NQ
  • Titanic Belfast – 1 Olympic Way, Queen’s Road, BT3 9EP
