GoHen Go to Dublin

by

For the longest time, we couldn’t decide between whiskey or Guinness.

So, to find out if a Dublin hen party could go without one or the other, we sent our Event Manager, Carmen to find the answer.

The answer is no.

Now, here are the rest of the insights she brought back from her weekend in Dublin:

The Things You Need to Know… 👀

  • Temple Bar is THE place to go if you want a great pint!
  • The Guinness Storehouse is a must-visit.
  • Fade Street has a busy atmosphere but cheaper drinks!

Getting There… 🍀

“Getting there was easy and stress-free.

“After a few warm-up drinks on the flight, we landed in Dublin Airport on a quiet Thursday night, and we were able to catch a taxi almost instantly.”

What Were Your First Impressions? 💭

“As we were heading towards the hotel, the streets were busy, and some nightclubs were already open.

“For a capital city, it’d be normal to expect a bit of a rowdy atmosphere, but Dublin’s was nothing like it.

“It was obvious that people were heading down to the city centre to have a good time.”

What Was Your Accommodation? 🏨

“We picked Harcourt Hotel as it was directly next to the main shopping street and some of the biggest nightclubs around.

“This made it a great launchpad for kick-starting the party, plus the room was lush.

“It had a big comfy bed, big windows with curtains to shut out the world, a modern en-suite, and a long mirror to make sure I looked good before leaving for the day.”

How Easy Was it to Get Around the City? 🚶‍♀️‍➡️

“The city is very walkable with everything being concentrated in the city centre.

“There are regular trams and buses that aren’t hard to navigate either, plus everyone we met was friendly, so it was really easy to ask for directions.”

Are There Any Great Drinking Spots in Dublin? 🥂

dublin-dining

“It’s almost impossible NOT to find somewhere to have a drink in Dublin.

“My favourite spot was O’Donoghue’s Bar which had a great drinks menu and traditional live Irish music which was great fun.

“The Vintage Cocktail Club was a bit pricey, but the cocktails were worth it, and the place was cool.

“If you’re trying to preserve the party kitty for longer, head over to Fade Street as according to the locals, you won’t be charged €10 for a Guinness over there.

“And if you want an unbeatable atmosphere that you won’t find anywhere else, Temple Bar is what you’re looking for.”

  • Fade Street Social – 6 Fade St, 2, D02 NF77
  • O’Donoghue’s Bar – 15 Merrion Row, D02 PF50
  • Vintage Cocktail Club – 15 Crown Alley, Temple Bar, 2, D02 E229

What Are the Best Bars to Have a Pint in Dublin? 🍺

  • The Stag’s Head – 1 Dame Ct, D02 TW84
  • The Bleeding Horse – 24-25 Camden Street Upper, Saint Kevin’s
  • The Guinness Storehouse – St. James’s Gate, Dublin 8, D08 VF8H

“Okay, maybe the latter is not exactly a bar, but you must try a classic Guinness when in Dublin, right?”

What Are the Top Dining Spots in Dublin? 🍕🍰

“The place to go for some great bites in Dublin is St Andrews Street.

“From sweet shops that sell doughnuts and cakes to classic Irish restaurants, you will find something that suits everyone in your group.

“Dublin is big, but the pubs, restaurants, shops, and sights are all concentrated in the centre with the river splitting them into two areas.

“So, if you want a more relaxed setting (because you’re nursing hangover) you can grab a coffee and a bite to enjoy by the riverside.”
