How long does it take to plan the average wedding?
For full wedding planning I usually start working with my couples at least 12 months prior to their wedding and spend, on average, 250 hours per wedding. However, I am increasingly working on weddings with shorter lead times and have even organised an entire wedding in less than 6 weeks…but 12 months is ideal!
Inedible food (or lack thereof). My advice to couples planning their wedding would be arrange for a food tasting, ensure that enough food is provided for guests and always ask about dietary requirements or allergies. I myself am allergic nuts and have attended a wedding as a guest before to find out that I couldn’t eat the main or dessert (and that the vegetarian alternative also contained nuts) – hence why this is a definite “no no” for me!
What is your top tip for someone planning their wedding?
Take your time, try to enjoy the experience, don’t get caught up in the perfection, have faith in your decisions and above all remind yourself what’s truly important.
