Lisbon packagesFast gaining a reputation as one of Europe's liveliest and trendiest cities, Lisbon is an established favourite amongst the international DJ set. This city has a fantastic nightlife scene with a great range of bars, clubs and entertainment ideas to ensure your Lisbon hen night really goes off with a bang! With a fantastic range of bars & clubs, there's enough choice to suit everyone for a memorable time in Lisbon.
Your guide to hen nights in Lisbon
We can arrange transfers for you up to the hilltop district of Bairro Alto, where you'll find a fun and vibrant nightlife scene twisting through the narrow streets, alongside some striking architecture. There are over 100 bars and restaurants here so you really can take your pick - we'll be happy to recommend the most hen friendly choices so you can make the most out of your night. On top of that, we can organise some great entertainment options to suit all groups and keep the girls smiling all evening. How about taking the girls to one of the capital's best casinos for a night of high rolling fun and games, a guided bar crawl given by a friendly English-speaking local, all topped off with guestlist clubbing?
Bars and Pubs
The narrow streets of the Barrio Alto are both well known as a fantastic spot to relax with a cocktail after dark and well into the small hours, as the heat evaporates and finally gets cool enough for clubbing! Dive right into Portuguese culture and get yourself a cold 'Sagres' beer for a great price or a delicious Brazilian caipirinha or capriciosca, made with rum, sugar and lime for just a few Euros. Artis is a trendy, atmospheric wine bar well worth a visit, as is Bicaense, the favoured haunt of cool locals, decorated by projectors and always pumping out cool beats.
Cultural Lisbon
Lisbon has something for everyone to try and it most certainly isn't just all about the bars, clubs and booze. It's a beautiful city to wander around at night after the day's heat and the Miradouro da Senhora do Monte viewing point is well worth the uphill climb when the sun is setting, as it offers an unrivalled, magical view over the old town which really must not be missed. If you fancy a taste of high culture in Portugal, head to the Teatro de Sao Carlos for opera, ballet and orchestral performances, which are practically perfect, as they require no knowledge of the Portuguese language at all!
Getting Around Lisbon
Lisbon is a pretty big place, but luckily it has great public transport, so getting around is easy. The beautiful, art-lined Metro system spans the entire city and is very affordable and efficient, running from 6.30am until 1.00am, or alternatively, get great views of the city when you take a traditional tram. Taxis are available but get pricey on busy weekend party nights, so watch out for steep fares or for an easy, stress-free alternative, let us organise convenient transfers for you to all of the main party areas. Luckily, our accommodation options are located close to the action in Barrio Alto or an easy-access metro stop for other party areas.
Music and Moves
Lisbon's clubs are legendary and the city is well known for being a great night out. Head to the area around the Santa Apolnia train station for buzzing nightlife and house, techno and electro beats, as well as top DJs or check out the trendy, up and coming Docas, (docks). Once a little rough and ready, it's now a popular haunt for cool young locals and pop, rock, jazz and electronica pumps out of chic clubs all night long. All around the famous party Barrio Alto district and the Cais do Sodré, chart hits and Europop is to be heard, but Lisboetas also really appreciate quality live music. Be sure to check out some traditional 'fado' music, a melancholic genre which the locals love and top jazz over drinks at the Hot Clube de Portugal, which constantly welcomes world-class acts.
Luscious Lisbon
There are plenty of local delicacies which simply must be tried out in Lisbon. When ordering in a traditional restaurant, always go for the 'pratos do dia', or 'dishes of the day' for a real, fresh and well-priced taste of Portugal. Find authentic eateries in the winding Barrio Alto or Chiado areas and more modern and quirky takes on traditional cuisine by the fashionable docks. Expo 98 is an up and coming area well worth a look that offers a wide range of new bars and restaurants. Be prepared to eat late too, in accordance with the Mediterranean tradition and cloying daytime heat which only leaves the city at around 10 or 11pm. Alternatively, let us organise a fantastic group meal for you, to keep things stress-free. Pastelarias de nata, or Portuguese custard tarts must be tried from a traditional Pasteleria - they're everywhere and are easily sniffed out by the delicious sugary cinnamon scent alone!
