Your guide to hen nights in Barcelona

BAR-celona

In the evening the city is at its best, and hen groups in Barcelona are spoilt for choice on where to go. Las Ramblas is one of the liveliest sites in the city, packed with bars from start to finish. From Boadas, allegedly the oldest cocktail bar in the city, to Blondie, a retro 80's bar decorated in electric neon, Las Ramblas covers all your pre-drinks needs - try Yakuta, which serves a free shot with each cocktail. The nearby Ravel district has a lot of fun, cheap bars good for getting the party started! Aurora has a happy hour that runs until 11, so it's a great place to begin the night. Port Olimpic has some of the coolest bars around. Large groups might want to head to Pippermint, who serve massive pitchers ideal for sharing amongst friends. If you're looking for something a little more manageable, try Chupitos. Their menu includes over 200 shots, and no descriptions of any - just tell the bartender what you like, and he'll find something for you! Remember to drink responsibly.

Boogie in Barcelona

Looking to impress with your salsa dancing? You'll have plenty of opportunities to strap on your dancing shoes! Port Vell alone has 5 nightclubs, and the rest of the city doesn't lag behind either, with around 20 in the city centre. If you want to get your glam rags on, and rub shoulders with celebrities, head back to Port Olimpic - Lady Gaga and Madonna have both held after-parties in clubs around here. The clubs in Barcelona are amongst the most glamorous and glitzy in the world, and with podium dancers, cheap drinks, and closing times well into the morning don't be afraid to let your hair down and have a fantastic night out!

Brilliant Barcelona

A hen night in Barcelona isn't only about the alcohol - Barcelona is at its best at night for everyone, not just the club crowd. Las Ramblas might be bar central, but with a host of street performers like clowns, acrobats and flamenco dancers lining the roads, it's an entertaining place for anyone to visit after dark. For a spectacular water and illumination show, the Magic Fountain is absolutely breathtaking and sure to be the highlight of your Barcelona hen night.

Barcelona Bites

As you'd expect, there are dozens of different tapas places to try in Barcelona, and we'd highly recommend you try a few - they're cheap, they're delicious, and they're a lot of fun to share with the girls! Quimet & Quimet is excellently priced and serves a variety of gourmet tapas, as well as the simple and familiar dishes. Ravel has a variety of good, authentic Spanish food in trendy restaurants to try - if you're looking for something a bit more filling than tapas to line your stomachs, Cera 23 is an excellent bet for Mediterranean/Spanish fusion dishes, or Can Lluis for traditional Catalan meals in a contemporary setting.

Getting About Barcelona

The Barcelona Bus Turistic can take you to every tourist destination you can imagine, or the metro can cover most other areas, so transport shouldn't be an issue - though if you need transfers to activities you've booked with GoHen, just ask and we can arrange those for you. Otherwise, walking around Barcelona is an excellent way to see the city and experience the Spanish lifestyle, provided you remember your sun cream!
