Newquay packagesStunning coastal Newquay is best known for beaches, water sports and action-packed activities, but its buzzing nightlife really does have a lot to say for itself too. Newquay comes to life when the sun goes down - during the day, the main high street is packed out with holidaymaking shoppers, but come nightfall, there's a totally different vibe and all the partygoers come out to play!
Your guide to hen nights in Newquay
In between exploring the main bar-lined areas and heading to various surfer bars to mingle with sun-kissed watersport pros (yes please), add some of our group-pleasing Newquay hen night entertainment, such as a visit from a hunky hens host, a trip in a limousine or even guess whodunit at a hilarious murder mystery evening. Put this beach break at the top of your list for a great hen night by the sea that you and the girls won't forget in a hurry!
Bars and Pubs
There's a huge variety of places to grab a local ale or a yummy cocktail along the cheerful, old-fashioned streets of Newquay, all with the distinctly chilled out vibe that you'd expect from a city which loves to surf. Located mainly around the central street and Fore Street areas by the beach, look out for quirky and fun venues which make Newquay such an interesting place to spend the evening. The Beached Lamb, for example, pumps out reggae beats all day long and serves up delicious cuisine from all around the world, but is best known for its incredible drinks menu, which offers up such delights as toffee crumble milkshakes and healthy smoothies during the day and then all your favourite cocktail mixes at night. Bank St Bar and Grill is a great bet for good value drinks to please all the girls, as is traveller and student favourite Belushi's. For a traditional pub atmosphere, head to Bertie O'Flanagans or the Sailors Bar.
Nights in Newquay
Although the nightlife in Newquay is very lively and well loved by locals and surf tourists alike, it's still a major family holiday destination, meaning that there's plenty to do besides bopping away in the clubs and bars. A walk along beautiful Fistral beach at night is not to be sniffed at, as is the quirky, locally owned Lane theatre. Look out for great open mic nights across the city too, for some top regional talent.
Getting Around Newquay
Newquay is a small city with a selection of bars, pubs and clubs which are all concentrated around the same area, meaning that you and your group will find it easy to walk wherever you need to be. If you need to travel from a little further out, Western Greyhound buses are regular and reliable, or if the thought of tottering over the city's salty streets in your best party heels simply fills you with dread, ordering up a taxi is easy - use one of GoHen's trusted firms and expect to pay around a couple of pounds for a full taxi to the centre. Consider pre-booking during busy summer weekends. Our Newquay accommodation options are located close to the action, but because some of our self-catering properties are situated a little further out, we can book transfers for you whenever you need them.
Party life in Newquay
There's a range of different musical genres going on in the clubs of Newquay, with dance and trance, R'n'B and dance and pop being most popular in the biggest clubs, where you can hit the dance floor with gusto, or simply watch the world go by on squashy leather sofas with your favourite drink in hand. One beach-themed club even holds foam parties and themed nights all through the summer season! All of the best clubs in Newquay offer several different levels, differing music options and a wide variety of in-house bars which love hen partygoers. You're sure to find a great atmosphere and a beat to suit everyone on your hen night Newquay!
Newquay Nightcaps
There are loads of fantastic places to enjoy a drink in Newquay to feed the thirsty party crowds who land in summer to test out the surf and sand. There's one chain bar that you'll all recognise, and many more offering yummy cocktails and pints in cosy pubs. The Sailor's Arms is well known for its great value tipples, as well as a buzzing, youthful atmosphere or try out The Central Inn, right in the centre of town as the name might already suggest, and get involved in al fresco drinking when the weather's good and finding a spot at the tiny bar when it's not so nice! Loved by locals and visitors, this place is a hub for party life in the city. Bar Help is the place to be for a taste of tropical shores, with the likes of frozen pina colada, frozen sex on the beach and fuzzy melonade (Midori, peach schnapps and lemonade) gracing the menu. Delicious!
Newquay Nosh
Newquay has embraced the cuisines of many different counties and cultures over the years, from a Greek taverna and Spanish tapas bar to Mexican and Chinese restaurants and Indian curry houses. However, owing to its seaside location, it's hardly surprising that seafood in Newquay is second to none. Enjoy crispy fish and chips in chippies all over town or visit New Harbour for 'sexy fish and chips', which involves skewered monkfish, king prawns and a wine list amongst other delicacies. Yes, please! Great traditional British food is never far away in this well-loved English city too, from a gourmet pie or steak in a gastropub like Butcher's Bistro to good quality pub grub favourites in various inns. Alternatively, allow GoHen to book up a yummy group meal for you and your hens in one of our trusted restaurants in Newquay. For a unique dining experience, try out our medieval banquet, where you'll be served by wenches and entertained by court jesters. Your own period dress not necessary, but very much encouraged! And of course, tucking into a delicious Cornish pasty and indulgent cream tea or saffron bun during your stay is an absolute no-brainer.
