Best Bits in Bournemouth
Bournemouth is very much a party town, but there's still plenty to do at night if you don't fancy drinking or want to do something fun outside of the pubs and clubs. At the end of Bournemouth pier stands the wonderful Pavilion Theatre. Built in the 1920s and still going strong, it's an elegant and striking place to visit and regularly stages popular Broadway shows, ballet and comedy. Similarly, the Opera House is a great venue which has hosted Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and David Bowie in the past.
Getting Around Bournemouth
It's highly likely that everything and everywhere you need to get to in Bournemouth will be within walking distance, but if you have a longer journey to make or simply don't fancy braving chilly weather or vertiginous heels, there are plenty of 'blue' and 'yellow' buses which operate in and around the town - just be aware that these are run by separate companies and therefore that tickets for each aren't interchangeable. Alternatively, take a taxi, fairly cheap at around £2 each for a full taxi in the central area. It's highly recommended that you call up and book your cab transport ahead for the evening, as Friday and Saturday nights get exceptionally busy - use one of GoHen's recommended firms in the area for complete peace of mind. The majority of our accommodation in Bournemouth is located centrally and close to the seafront, meaning that getting out and about and back home after your night out is a cinch. Our exclusive self-catering options are a little further out of town, but offer incredible privacy, perfect for a cheeky visit from one of our hens hosts! The centre can be reached easily from these areas by taxi or a pre-arranged transfer.
Boogie Down in Bournemouth
The club scene in Bournemouth is second to none and is a genuine player these days in the southern UK party league, comparable even to London and wild, bright Brighton. Its seaside location, too, makes it a near-perfect place to bust out your best moves and love the cheesy 90s tunes. Enjoy a hilarious drag cabaret musical, or head to the karaoke bar to belt out a few songs of your own to kick start your night and then move on to one of the many beachside clubs for pumping chart tunes and fresh, new music as well as a healthy dose of nostalgia. From swanky modern clubs to laid-back student spots, there's always something to dance to in Bournemouth's 10+ major clubs.
